Not only will the phone be free, you will usually get a very good plan (minutes available per month) through whichever provider you choose. Things to keep in mind: the cell phone is free; you will still have to pay a monthly service fee (which you determine by how many minutes you need). Unless you go prepaid, all cell phone providers will charge you on a monthly basis. Prepaid phones are almost never free. So, picking up a free cell phone along with a monthly plan (300, 500, or 600 anytime minutes per month, for example) will usually be your best bet. You never know when an emergency will occur, when you NEED to call someone. Plus, most plans offer free nights, free weekends, and free long distance!
